FIELD: foundry, namely manufacture of metallic chip briquettes. SUBSTANCE: shaking-out type chill mold for making metallic-chip briquettes includes casting pan and trunnions for lifting chill mold and tilting it. Inner surface of chill mold is coated with paint layer and lined with layer of easy-to-sublimate or easy-to-melt material. Gating ducts are provided in casting pan; said ducts are arranged along upper end of lining layer. Melt iron from casting pan through gating ducts is uniformly fed onto surface of lining layer. The last is sublimated or melt and metal fills formed cavities. Uniform-thickness layer of cast iron is formed between chips and walls of chill mold. Said layer protects chips against oxidation at melting in cupola. EFFECT: lowered loss of chips. 3 cl, 1 dwg |
