PURPOSE: An opening/shutting device and method of a display unit for a vehicle is provided to open/shut the display unit from a console box installed at the roof of the vehicle by remote control. CONSTITUTION: An opening/shutting device and method of a display unit is composed of a console box(110) installed at the roof of a vehicle, a display unit(120) rotatably installed in the console box by a hinge(140), a fixing unit(130) preventing the display unit from dropping from the console box, and a microcomputer. The microcomputer receives a control signal from a remote controller, and opens/shuts the display unit.
