PURPOSE: A rotary type heater control unit for a vehicle is provided to enable a user to smoothly rotate a control knob by protruding the control knob by non-contact type repulsive force. CONSTITUTION: A rotary type heater control unit is composed of a hollow housing(40) mounted at an instrument panel and having a knob groove(42) and a shaft hole(44), a rotary shaft(52) installed in the shaft hole, a control knob(50) coupled to one end of the rotary shaft, a pinion(60) coupled to the other end of the rotary shaft, a heater driving unit controlling a heater, a rack(62) engaged with the pinion and transmitting the rotation of the control knob to the heater driving unit, a permanent magnet(54) fixed to the rotary shaft, an electromagnet(56) installed at the rear of the housing, and an ignition switch(58) supplying power to the electromagnet. The electromagnet has a through hole through which the rotary shaft passes, and generates repulsive force with the permanent magnet.
