FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of levels of liquid or loose dielectric materials, predominantly, faintly reflecting and faintly absorbing. SUBSTANCE: procedure measuring level of dielectric medium consists in measurement of propagation time of radio waves emitted through layer of substance and in computation of its level by measured propagation time. In addition time of wave propagation from two sources of radio waves as minimum spaced in distance from receiving antenna is measured. Level llepsilon of dielectric medium is established from relationship where taul.s is propagation time of radio waves from lower source to receiving antenna; C is velocity of light in vacuum; hl.r is geometrical distance from receiving antenna to lower radiator; Deltataui is time difference of propagation of radio waves to receiving antenna from two sources spaced in distance by value Deltali, ; Deltah is height of layer of dielectric medium from bottom of reservoir to lower radiator.
