PURPOSE: A system and a method for playing multimedia moved by a position of a mouse cursor are provided to perform other work regardless of the position of a pop-up multimedia controller by moving the pop-up multimedia controller to other area when the mouse cursor of a user is placed in the area of the pop-up multimedia controller. CONSTITUTION: A play area setting module(402) sets up the area to display the multimedia controller to more than two areas on a client screen. A mouse recognition module(404) judges that the mouse cursor is placed in the area of the multimedia controller, and displays the multimedia controller by moving the multimedia controller to the client area if the mouse cursor is placed in the area of the multimedia controller. A control module(408) controls various information streams including a music file.
