PURPOSE: An electrode of an electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is provided to improve a focus property and to achieve easily an aberrational compensation of an electronic lens formed by a large aperture electron beam through hole. CONSTITUTION: An electrode of an electron gun for a color cathode ray tube comprises a cathode, a control electrode, a screen electrode, a first outer rim electrode(62) arranged at the cathode side and including a large aperture electron beam through hole(61) passing through three electron beams, a focus electrode(60) arranged inside the first outer rim electrode and having a first inner electrode(63) formed on three electron beam through holes(63R,63G,63B) formed in line, a second outer rim electrode arranged to be adjacent to the focus electrode and including a large aperture electron beam through hole passing through three electron beams, and a final acceleration electrode arranged inside the first outer rim electrode and having a second inner electrode including a three electron beam through hole formed in line. A thickness at a central electron beam through hole formation part of the first and the second inner electrode is different from a thickness of both side electron beam through hole formation part mutually.
