PURPOSE: An anion generator with easy maintenance is provided to efficiently generate anion, to be easily maintained, and to simplify structure thereof. CONSTITUTION: An anion generator includes a lower box(5) having a motor(7) and a reservoir(11); an upper box(3) detachably attached to the lower box, and covering the reservoir; a mist generating mechanism(18) supported in the reservoir to be rotated by the motor and generate mist; an air supply mechanism forming a channel through which air introduced into the anion generator by rotation of the motor is supplied to the mist generating mechanism; a gas-liquid separating unit integrated with the upper box, and installed to cover the mist generating mechanism; a gas-liquid separating mechanism separating mist generated by rotation of the mist generating mechanism and water drops other than the mist by the gas-liquid separating unit and a wall of the reservoir; and a mist discharge mechanism discharging the mist separated in the gas-liquid separating mechanism. The upper box is separated from the lower box to allow the reservoir to be pulled out.
