PURPOSE: A method for producing slats for blinds by using parts including knots at material woods and the slat produced by the method are provided to increase the effective value of the material woods by utilizing the parts including the knots at the material woods as the slat for the blind. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing slats for a horizontal-type overlapped blind including a plurality of long square slats connected to an upper frame by an adjusting rope and unwound and wound by an operating rope installed to one end of the upper frame is composed of steps of cutting parts including knots from material woods into a regular hexahedral timber having a predetermined size; primarily drying the timber including the knots to have the moisture content of 8¯15 percent; humidifying the timber primarily dried to have the moisture content of 50¯80 percent; secondarily drying the humidified timber to have the moisture content of 8¯15 percent; taking the knots out of the secondarily dried timber; and slicing the timber at which knot holes(H) are formed by taking out the knots, into regular square plate members(200) having a predetermined thickness.
