he invented fire-extinguishing system is characterised by instantaneous evaporation of liquefied inert gas, a technique, which is preponderantly applied for extinguishing great fires in built-up areas. It is a cylinder in shape and can be complementarily used by existing fire extinguishing means. In fact, it concerns a metal cylindrical container with a firing device in which container there is positioned small quantity of explosive material and an adequately insulated cistern meant to receiveinert liquids such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide etc. The system is lunched from air or from the ground at the fire source. The subsequent explosion disperses, in fine droplets, the liquid at the surrounding space which liquid, coming in contact with fire, evaporates by frosting the burning materials, while, simultaneously, the inert atmosphere created by the evaporation gas (e.g. nitrogen gas) excludes oxygen from the combustion area what results in the fire extinguishing. The device should be replenished with explosives and liquid only little time before use. The quantity of the explosive material employed for the explosion of the containers should be no more than the minimum quantity required. Considering the construction, transport and impact factors, the quantity of the liquid should be as great as possible. |
