PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly drill a segment wall by using a shield machine when constructing a tunnel using the shield machine. SOLUTION: A portion of the segment wall is provided with a portion that can be drilled by the shield machine. The portion that can be drilled is formed of a stack 3 of pieces of composite material comprising plastic foam reinforced with inorganic fibers, so as to reduce the drilling resistance of the shield machine and increase drilling speeds. Further, the stack 3 comprises a plurality of split stacks 31. The adjacent split stacks 31 are interconnected by bolts (or locking projections/tightening members) so as to enhance the handleability of the stack 3 and the operability for assembling the stack 3 into a segment body 2.
