PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Fe-Cr based steel sheet for structural purposes which has a tensile strength of 400 to 450 MPa as hot-rolled over the whole length and whole width, and has no occurrence of embrittlement in the weld zone even by rapid heating/rapid cooling on electric resistance welding, to provide a production method therefor, and to provide shape steel for structural purposes worked by electric resistance welding using the steel sheet. SOLUTION: A steel stock comprising, by mass, 0.0025 to 0.010% C, 0.0025 to 0.010% N,≤0.015% (C+N), 0.01 to 1.0% Si, 0.01 to 0.30% Mn,≤0.04% P,≤0.03% S, 8 to <10% Cr, 0.01 to 1.0% Cu, 0.01 to 1.0% Ni, 0.01 to 0.20% V and≤0.05% Al is heated at 1,100 to 1,280°C, and is hot rolled so as to be finished at >930°C. The steel is coiled at >810°C, and is cooled at a mean cooling rate of≤2°C/min in the range of 800 to 400°C, so that the steel sheet having a tensile strength of 400 to 450 MPa is obtained.
