PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for managing/controlling timings of a storage device and a bulk storage device to start data transfer and to occupy resources. SOLUTION: A memory control part 4-3 is provided with a means to designate required processing time in the case of requesting an image data input/output process to the storage device and an image input/output means when it is necessary to perform data transfer for inputting/outputting data within a fixed term, so that it is controlled whether or not a normal image data input/output operation can be carried out. Besides, when synchronously carrying out a plurality of image signal input/output operations, the time required for data transfer occasionally changes in comparison with a single operation. Thus, the memory control part 4-3 is also equipped with a means for controlling the plurality of operations in the case of operation of which the processing completion time is designated, so that a change in the processing time is prevented.
