PURPOSE: An electric control unit for a vehicle and a method for the same are provided to reduce the number of input ports formed in a microcomputer, and reduce the number of lines connected to the input ports, thereby simplifying a structure, and reducing time and cost for manufacturing the microcomputer. CONSTITUTION: A signal generator(50) formed of a plurality of switches(51,52,53,54) generates and outputs a control signal for electronically controlling a vehicle. A voltage adjusting unit(60) changes a voltage of the control signal. An input port(71) is an analog-to-digital port converting the control signal into a digital signal so that a microcomputer(70) processes the digital control signal. The microcomputer drives actuators(81,82) according to the control signal of which the voltage is changed.
