PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fixed laser whose oscillation wavelength is in a 1μm band, in which satisfactory and stable single vertical mode performance and a satisfactory beam profile and high output are all satisfied. SOLUTION: An oscillation mode is made a single vertical mode by inserting a Fabry-Perot etalon 17 into a resonator, constituted of an edge face 13a of a fixed laser medium 13 and a mirror face 14a of a resonator mirror 14. When the effective reflectivity of the etalon 17 in a wavelengthλ=λ<SB>O</SB>±Δλ<SB>C</SB>, shifted from resonance wavelengthλ<SB>O</SB>of the etalon 17 by a resonator vertical mode intervalΔλ<SB>C</SB>, is set as R<SB>N</SB>, and the inclination of an etalon optical axis to the resonator optical axis is set asθ, etalon thickness, etalon reflectivity, etalon inclination, and resonator vertical mode interval are adjusted so that relations 1.2%≤R<SB>N</SB>≤15% and 0.5°≤θ≤2.0°are satisfied.
