PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature which is light and is small in axial size. SOLUTION: A commutator 11 is fixed to a rotating shaft 6, and a coupling member 50 in the shape of a bottomed cylinder is fixed within the center hole 25 of a core 10. Then, the rotating shaft 6 and the core 10 are coupled with each other by fixing the rotating shaft 6 to the coupling member 50, and the small-diameter part 40b of the insulator 40 of the commutator 11 where a short circuit wire 42 is arranged is arranged inside the internal space 50a of the coupling member 50.
