PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi monitor apparatus for offering high-quality display by setting an OSD display position at the same position as the time of receiving a specific signal channel even when no-signal channel is tuned in. SOLUTION: The multi monitor apparatus includes an image demodulation circuit 1 for treating an input compound video signal and performing color demodulation and sharpness regulation, and a displaying control signal generating means (synchronizing separation circuit 3, panel controller 4 and PLL circuit 5) for separating a synchronizing signal from the input compound image signal and generating a control signal for displaying the image. A free oscillation frequency change-over switch SW for switching a free oscillation frequency of the PLL circuit 5 according to the signaling method of the compound image signal is provided. As a result, the free oscillation frequency at no-signal both in NTSC mode and in PAL mode is set to the same oscillation frequency as the time of specific signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
