PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication apparatus that can reduce the waveform distortion of a main signal and can restrain deterioration in high-frequency characteristics. SOLUTION: In the optical communication apparatus, a plurality of lands 45a, 45c of a printed wiring board 32 for connecting a plurality of main signal leads 50, 51 of a laser diode module 34 are arranged close to the end face of the printed wiring board, and the land 45b of the printed wiring board for connecting an auxiliary signal lead 52 of the laser diode module is arranged separately from the end face of the printed wiring board by a fixed distance, thus reducing the waveform distortion of the main signal by shortening the length of a main signal lead, and restraining the deterioration in the high-frequency characteristics.
