PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a good coated surface, high potential by electrostatic charge and high sensitivity, excellent in repetitive characteristics and free of image failures such as fog, pinholes and density unevenness in image formation by an electrophotographic process. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer containing a charge generating material and a binder as components on a conductive support, at least one phthalocyanine composition having a specified crystal structure is contained as the charge generating material and at least one vinyl chloride copolymer resin and at least one butyral resin are contained as the binder in the photosensitive layer.
