PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet head capable of ejecting ink stably at a high velocity in a multi-drop driving system utilizing shearing mode deformation, and to provide its driving method. SOLUTION: An ordinary inkjet head having a pressure generating region contributive to ink generation where a barrier wall is bonded to a cover member, and a common region for supplying ink to an ink chamber where a gap of about 200μm is provided between the barrier wall and the cover member is further provided with a narrow gap region for damping a pressure wave generated in the ink chamber where a gap of about 15μm is provided between the barrier wall and the cover member.
