The consumer of a service obtains from a renderer of a service an identification number for paying for a service. The consumer uses his telephone to call the payment system and enters the identification number. The payment system is connected to the server of the issuer of the identification number, and the consumer requests the amount or the consumer is requested to enter an amount. The connection is maintained until the cost of the connection corresponds to amount. Once the amount has been reached, the payment system disconnects the connection to the consumer. The payment system then reports the amount of the accrued telephone charges back to the system that issued the identification number. In the event of an early termination of the call, the system reports the amounts that accrued up to that point in time. The system that issued the identification number thus recognizes whether the requested amount had been paid. The amounts are deducted according to the telephone charges of the consumer. |
