A low resistance electrical path is connected between pair of electrical terminals. To the low resistance path, a microprocessor (22) is coupled to provide digital samples related to electrical current flowing through low resistance path during vehicle operation. The digital samples are then stored in a memory (40). An Independent claim is also included for electrical system diagnostic method.
