PURPOSE: A pouch-type container for receiving an electrode assembly and a lithium battery containing the pouch-type container are provided, to improve the resistance against an electrolyte solution and scratch of the container. CONSTITUTION: The pouch-type container comprises a metal base(32); an outer coat layer(34) which is formed on the outer surface of the metal base and comprises 95-99 wt% of polycarbonate and ethylene-propylene dimer rubber and an inner coat layer(30) which is formed on the inner surface of the metal base and has a thermal adhesive strength. Preferably the thickness of the outer coat layer is 10-40 micrometers; the metal base comprises aluminum; and the inner coat layer comprises poly(propylene-co-acrylic acid) or poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid). Optionally the container comprises further an adhesive layer(33) between the outer coat layer and the metal base and an adhesive layer(31) between the inner coat layer and the metal base.
