The invention concerns a mould for a tyre running tread comprising a lower moulding part (2) and an upper moulding part (3) defining respectively the outer surface or the inner surface of a running tread, one at least of the two parts being mobile between two positions corresponding to the opening and closing of the mould (1), wherein the upper moulding part (3) bears the elements (6) for gripping one of the longitudinal ends of the running tread.
