The invention relates to a rolling platform which is used to move a rigid container comprising a positinioning receptacle. According to the invention, construction characteristics and geometric parameters are selected such that the inventive platform can be positioned underneath and inside the positioni ng receptacle of a rigid storage container. The aforementioned receptacle is formed by the container edge resting on the ground and the lower concave bas e thereof and the latter is used easily and without exertion to position and secure the rigid container in relation to the platform, simply by tilting sa id container. The container is then set upright such that it can be fixed and moved safely. The inventive mechanism can be used with all rigid containers having a polygonal or curved section and comprising a suitably-dimensioned positioning receptacle between the edge thereof resting on the ground and th e lower base of same.
