FLUORINATED PROTON-CONDUCTIVE POLYMER MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a fluorinated proton-conductive polymer membrane having excellent oxidation resistance in addition to proton conductivity and useful as an electrolyte membrane for solid polymer type fuel cells, and to provide a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: The proton-conductive polymer membrane comprises an aromatic polymer and proton-conductive substituents and at least a part of atoms in the aromatic unit in the aromatic polymer is substituted with fluorine atoms. The method for producing the fluorinated proton-conductive polymer membrane is to contact the proton-conductive polymer membrane comprising the aromatic polymer and proton-conductive substituents with a fluorine introducing agent.
