<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent offset caused when printing is carried out passing a large-size recording material through right after printing is carried out passing a small-size recording material through. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has an image heating device 25 which heats an image on a recording material in such a manner that the recording material P on which an image T is held is passed and conveyed through a nip N between a heat member 27 and a pressure member 18 to at least one of which a bias is applied. In a case where a recording material that is narrower than the maximum paper insertion width of the apparatus is passed through and then a recording material wider than the maximum paper insertion width is passed through, an amount of application of the bias is set according to the number of the narrow recording materials passed through and time from the completion of printing the narrow recording materials to the start of printing the wide recording materials. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
