<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately correcting color slippage without degrading accuracy even on the occurrence of wrong detection of the color slippage patterns in automatic color shift correction control. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where detection data contains wrong data because of damage, stains, etc., on an intermediate transfer belt 31, one set containing the wrong detection data and another prescribed set are discarded as a pair, with the color shift quantity calculated on the basis of the remaining undiscarded detection data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
