PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable editing of a document attribute while maintaining a share relation. SOLUTION: In the document group management device, a document attribute editor 4 switches document attribute edit processing performed by the document attribute editor 4 based on whether a document attribute is shared with another document group management device, or performs no attribute editing processing that changes an attribute ID of a document attribute (in subject) shared by the another document group management device. Further, when the document attribute editor 4 performs the attribute editing processing that changes the attribute ID of the document attribute in subject, a device controller 2 displays such a fact on a display device 8, reports the contents of the attribute editing processing to the another document group management device such that the another document management device simultaneously performs the same attribute editing processing, or prepares and sends editing history information on the editing processing to the another document group management device.
