PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve communication efficiency and to post the state of an own station to another station without general broadcasting. SOLUTION: In a token passing communication method for circulating tokens in a fixed period, the state of a next station is verified according to station information for determining the transmission destination of a token when the token is transmitted. Additionally, information on an own station is added to the token for circulating the token. Further, when it is judged that the transmission destination of the token failed according to station information added to the token, the token is not transmitted to the station having the station information, and a next station to be transmitted to is selected according to the station information and the token is transmitted.
