PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate for a display, which makes it easy to coat coating materials such as dielectrics or the like needed according to the species of the display in a nearly constant thickness and high precision. SOLUTION: The glass substrate for the display having a short side dimension of 300 to 3,000 mm, and a long side dimension of 300 to 3,000 mm, and further, an average plate thickness of 1.5 to 3.0 mm, has a difference of the plate thickness D between the maximum plate thickness Tmax and the minimum plate thickness Tmin is made to be 20μm or less.
