PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interphone system with excellent user-friendliness even when a speech path is formed between an external speech terminal equipped with camera and a subscriber speech terminal without a monitor. SOLUTION: Since an interphone sub master unit A2 is not provided with a monitor and cannot display a video image, a control section 16 forms a speech path with an intercom slave unit B equipped with camera, and when a speech processing section 15 receives a video signal superimposed on a voice signal transmitted from the intercom slave unit B equipped with camera, the control section 16 allows a control signal transmission reception section 18 to transmit a video image disabled control signal to the intercom slave unit B equipped with camera via an interphone master unit A1. The camera attached intercom slave unit B receiving the video image disabled control signal informs a visitor that the subscriber speech terminal forming the speech path cannot display the video image imaged by a camera.
