PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image pickup device and a stereoscopic display device which display stereoscopic images free from color moire in a stereoscopic image display system using no special glasses. SOLUTION: In a stereoscopic image pickup device 10, color filters (14<SB>1</SB>, 14<SB>2</SB>, to 14<SB>n</SB>) each of which has one color of RGB are arranged for elemental convex lenses (12<SB>1</SB>, 12<SB>2</SB>, to 12<SB>n</SB>) respectively, and an image of a subject 1 is formed by the imaging elemental convex lenses 12 and is formed on an image pickup surface 16 as picked-up elemental images (13<SB>1</SB>, 13<SB>2</SB>, to 13<SB>n</SB>) represented by shades of monochromatic light corresponding to colors of the color filters 14.
