PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate (control) a compressor motor effectively until guarantee scope limit without exceeding a discharge pressure guarantee scope in the whole region from a low rotation region to a high rotation region when driving the compressor motor of an air conditioner. SOLUTION: Vector control is employed as drive control system of the compressor motor of the air conditioner. In vector control, load during operation can be obtained secondarily. Limit load torque corresponding to the number of revolutions is obtained in advance, and compensation amountΔFn for the number of revolutions of a compressor and compensation amountΔFt for limiting load torque are obtained from detected current number of revolutions Nr and current load torque Tr of the compressor motor 5 to control the number of revolutions of the compressor by either of the compensation amount which is smaller. When load is small, the compressor motor 5 can be controlled by the compensation amountΔFn by the number of revolutions of the compressor to perform operation corresponding to air conditioning load. When load is large, the compressor motor 5 is controlled by the compensation amountΔFt by load torque to continue operation while protecting the compressor motor 5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
