PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary friction device capable of obtaining a desirable braking force, while miniaturizing it. SOLUTION: This rotary friction device 50 is formed by interposing a holder 54, which is formed by arranging a plurality of rollers 58 along in the circumferential direction freely to roll, between a rotating body and a receiver body. The rollers 58 are housed for holding in a plurality of holes 60 formed with the predetermined space in the circumferential direction of the holder 54, and a rolling shaft O<SB>2</SB>of the rollers 58 is inclined at the predetermined angle against a plane including a rotary shaft O<SB>2</SB>of the rotating body.
