PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing soap, by which, even in the case of producing soft Torieta soap (soap which consists essentially of triethanolamine, is weakly acidic and mild and soft to the skin), a burr is efficiently and cleanly removed, a finish is approximately uniformed and the transparent or semitransparent Torieta soap is finished in good appearance, a mold used therefor and to obtain a soap molding molded by the mold. SOLUTION: A burr groove 1 communicating with a product cavity S is arranged along the periphery of the opening edge 54 of the product cavity through a minute gap 2. An outer peripheral burr connected through a thin-walled part to the outer periphery part of the main body of the soap molding is formed by a molding material cast to the burr groove 1. The outer peripheral burr is removed by separation at the thin-walled part. Preferably the width (w) of the minute gap 2 is set 0.5 mm-2.0 mm, the depth (d) is set 0.3 mm-1.0 m, the inclination angle to the mold matching surface of the burr groove 1 is set at 30°-60°, the width (W) of the burr groove 1 is set 2 mm-5 mm and the depth (D) is set 2 mm-5 mm.
