ANTIFREEZING PROTEIN DERIVED FROM FISHES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain antifreezing proteins from readily available fishes and to attempt to accelerate the use of the antifreezing proteins. SOLUTION: The antifreezing proteins can be obtained from fishes inhabited in the inland water area of Japan, in the sea around Japan or the water areas at the similar climate to the above. Those fishes are especially selected from the group consisting of Myoxocephalus, Gymnocanthus, Hemilepidotus, Furcina, Hypomesus, Spirinchus, allotus, Pleurogrammus, Sebastes, Clupea, Limanda, Liopsetta, Clidoderma, Cleisthenes, Microstomus, Leipidopsetta, Platichthys, Kareius, Eopsetta, Gadus, Theragra, Ammodytes, Hypoptychus, Trachurus, Brachyopsis, Pholis, Opisthocentrus, Zoarces, Ascoldia and Pholidapus.
