PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate ozone odor (rotten odor) when a lid of a rice cooker having an ozone and negative ion generating device is opened during keeping its temperature. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is constituted to have, within a lid 4, an ion generating device 5 for generating positive ion and negative ion and a damper driving device comprising a motor 9 for use in opening or closing an ion supplying port 17 through an upward or downward motion of a damper 12, a cam 7 and a damper driving shaft 13 or the like. Then, the damper driving device is operated in cooperation with an intermittent driving operation of the ion generating device 5, thereby ion having no taste, no odor and not harmful against a human being is released into an inner pot 19 so as to kill floating germ such as various kinds of germs or moot generated during a reservation step or temperature keeping step of rice cooking operation. With such an arrangement as above, it is possible to restrict the decay of rice and keep rice showing a nice taste for a long period of time in a safe manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
