PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a greening structure and a greening method for mitigating the heat-island phenomenon and improving the environment and landscape by greening roofs such as a terraced roof or a gentle slope roof of an apartment house or a building and facilitating the stretching of a fall-prevention wire for trees planted on a planting layer and the installation of a weir wall around a planted tree. SOLUTION: The greening structure has a waterproof sheet layer 20 at the bottom of a planting layer and a supporting material 9 for supporting a part formed on the circumference or surface of the planting layer or in the layer. The waterproof sheet layer 20 is formed by overlapping and sealing an end 21 of a waterproof sheet material 2 on the upper face 11 of a receiving member 1 formed along the water gradient.
