METHOD FOR CLEANING OF A LIQUID FILTRATION SYSTEM

The invention relates to a method of cleaning a liquid filtration system having at least two filter units, comprising the steps of filtering liquid with the filter units and, based on a previously determined value (a reference value) of a parameter, cleaning the filter units. The invention is characterised in that cleaning takes place when a measured value of the parameter equals the product of the predetermined value of the parameter and a previously to be determined factor. For example, the parameter may be a duration or a measure of fouling. According to another aspect, the invention relates to a method that is characterised in that the same comprises the steps of measuring for each filter unit at different moments in time at least two parameter values, e.g. the measure of fouling; determining therefrom a rate of increase of the fouling; calculating, based on the rate of increase and reference value and the latest determined value of the measure of fouling the moment in time at which the measure of fouling of the respective filter unit reaches the reference value; and carrying out a cleaning of the respective filter unit at the calculated moment in time. In this way the invention provides the possibility of shortening the wash interval, allowing the moment in time for back washing to be brought forward. This allows the filter units of a filter system simply to be organised in a stream backwash.
