PURPOSE: An input panel device of an electronic device is provided to select a menu quickly and conveniently by using a light receiving/emitting device. CONSTITUTION: If one of menu keys(204) is selected, a display part(202) displays a sub menu including the selected menu. A sensor array consisting of the light receiving/emitting devices(206,208) is arranged to the inside of the display part, and outputs a signal level if one of the sub menus displayed on the display part is selected. A controller(212) calculates a center value of the sensors changing the output level from the sensor array, decides which sub menu is selected by comparing the center value with a position value that the sub menu is displayed on the display part, and informs the selected sub menu to the electronic device.
