<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device and sensing system which contributes to a proper preload setting by enabling the measurement of a preload or axial load in the bearing device. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing device 10 comprises a pair of bearings 11 each having an outer ring 14, an inner ring 15 and a roller 16, which are combined through an outer ring spacer 17 and an inner ring spacer 18 so as to receive the preload. The preload-receiving spacer 17 is formed of a material including a metal having a prescribed magnetostriction constant or more, which is dispersed in ceramics.
