INSTRUMENT PANEL STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress impact applied to the vicinities of knee parts of an occupant, while receiving the vicinities of the knee parts and suppressing a state of the waist part of the occupant moving to the front along a seat part of a seat when large impact is applied to a vehicle body in an instrument panel structure of a vehicle.

SOLUTION: The separable receiving part 7 is provided on a lower part of a synthetic resin instrument panel. Moving means 15 and 16 are provided to separate the receiving part 7 from the instrument panel and to rapidly move the part 7 to the seat side at a rear side when the large impact is applied to the vehicle body. A plastic deformable metal absorbing member 8 is mounted on a rear surface of the receiving part 7. The absorbing member 8 comprises a plurality of surface parts 9 mutually arranged at prescribed intervals and bent parts 11 and 12 connected over the surface parts 9. The length of the bent part 12 located on an outer peripheral part side of the receiving part 7 is constituted to be longer than that of the bent part 11 located on a center part side of the receiving part 7.
