<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system for a vehicle capable of preventing operation by unidentified people other than an owner. <P>SOLUTION: This data communication system 11 for a vehicle is provided with a portable data communication device 13, a vehicle side data communication device 15, and a vehicle side micro-computer 30. The portable data communication device 13, owned by the owner of the vehicle 14, transmits wired communication ID code signals S4 including wired communication ID codes. As the wired communication ID codes included in the wired communication ID code signals S4 are registered in the vehicle side micro-computer 30, the vehicle side micro-computer 30 changes the setting into an owner mode to permit operation of an engine start switch 35 and a shift lever by the owner only. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
