PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of efficiently realizing an electronic mail environment with high immediacy. SOLUTION: A service processing server 60 periodically searches newly arrived electronic mail that is addressed to service subscribers, not delivered yet to the subscribers and arrived in mail servers to which electronic mail terminals 10A, 10B, 10C or the like possessed by the service subscribers are connected while referencing the cross-reference among a first subscriber identifier stored in its internal storage device, addresses of the mail servers 30A, 30B, 30C or the like in the Internet 70, and a second subscriber identifier. When the server 60 searches out the newly arrived electronic mail, after reading the newly arrived electronic mail, the service processing server 60 extracts the outline of the newly arrived electronic mail and transmits the newly arrived electronic mail to a terminal 50 connected to a particular communication network together with the identification information of the newly arrived electronic mail.
