PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having high picture quality equal to or higher than that of a conventional wet type silver salt photosensitive material, and particularly excellent in the property of image diagnosis, and to provide a heat developing apparatus. SOLUTION: The heat developing apparatus is equipped with a supply means to supply a sheet type heat developable photosensitive material and a heat developing drum which heats and rotates while holding the heat developable photosensitive material supplied by the supply means on its outer surface. When at least two or more sheets of the heat developable photosensitive material in the same size are continuously heat developed, the heat developable photosensitive material is brought into contact with a heat developing drum region on the drum with substantially no misalignment, the heat developing drum region sectioned in the circumference length of the drum along the carrying direction of the heat developable photosensitive material.
