PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer information from a portable electronic device to a user. SOLUTION: A stylus using a translucent material for optical transfer is used. In a favorable embodiment, the stylus provides a charge display with a similar form as a thermometer. Charge display is operated by inserting the stylus into a special stylus holder. At that time, a charge display similar to a temperature gauge appears on the stylus body. In another embodiment, color, lens focus and light intensity are changed for transferring information. The stylus can be also used for transferring any kind of information including receiving of electronic mails by the portable electronic device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
