PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gooseneck mounting method which facilitates and ensures mounting of a gooseneck of desired form and dimension without scratching or breaking the gooseneck. SOLUTION: According to the method, a front end of a gooseneck protective cover 1 having a substantially U-shaped cross section is rigidly mounted on an eaves front edge portion A, and a rear end of the same is rigidly mounted on an outer wall portion B, to thereby horizontally erect the gooseneck protective cover 1 in an under-eaves portion C. Herein a plurality of ceiling joists 2 are arranged in the under-eaves portion C on both sides of the gooseneck protective cover 1 in parallel with each other, and then eaves soffits 3 are rigidly mounted on lower sides of the ceiling joists 2 thus arranged, followed by exposing the gooseneck protective cover 1 downward at a location between the eaves soffits 3 on both sides. Thereafter a gooseneck 4 is housed in the gooseneck protective cover 1 from below, and a front end 5 of the gooseneck 4 is connected to an eaves gutter 6 while a rear end 7 of the same is connected to a down pipe 8.
