PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a drug for prophylaxis and treatment of parkinsonism, or the like, not depending on mere supplementing therapy or symptomatic therapy but fundamentally by sustaining the existence of nerve cells, accelerating neuranagenesis including neogenesis of nerves. SOLUTION: The PKB (protein kinase B, named also as Akt) activator comprises a compound expressed by the formula (1)[wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>represent each H, a hydrocarbon group, a heterocyclic group, and form a ring with adjacent carbon atoms; R<SP>3</SP>represents H, a hydrocarbon group or a heterocyclic group; W is expressed by the formula (2) (wherein ring A is a benzene ring which may have substituents; ring B represents a 5-7 membered nitrogen-containing heterocycle; R<SP>4</SP>is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group substituted with an aromatic group and may further have substituents or an aromatic group-containing acyl group; R<SP>5</SP>is H or a 1-6C alkyl or an acyl group; R<SP>4c</SP>is an aromatic group, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group or an acyl group; X is O or S); Y is O, S or NH; ring C is a benzene ring which may have substituents] or a salt thereof or a prodrug thereof.
