PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high yield manufacturing process for a 3-unsubstituted-5-amino-4-nitrosopyrazole compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing medicines, agrochemicals and the like from easily available raw materials without isolating intermediates during the reaction. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process for a 3-unsubstituted-5-amino-4-nitrosopyrazole compound as expressed by general formula (1) (wherein, R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl or an aryl group optionally having a substituted group.) comprises reacting at least one kind of nitrile compound selected from the group consisting of 3-alkoxyacrylonitriles and 3,3-dialkoxypropionitriles with a nitrosating agent and subsequently with a hydrazine compound in the presence of water.
