PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear engine-type riding lawn mower having compacted steering driving device. SOLUTION: The rear engine-type riding lawn tractor has a frame 12, an engine 11 attached to the frame 12, a cutting mower 9 driven by the engine 12, a driver's seat 17 attached to the frame 12, caster wheels 16 supported by the front part of the frame 12, a pair of driven wheels supported by the rear part of the frame 12, driving shafts 40L and 40R synchronously joined to the pair of the driven wheels, and HST (hydrostatic transmission) 72 for traveling and HST 70 for turning, installed in a transmission installed in the frame 12. A transmission case 25 is installed in one side in the right and left direction of the inside of the frame, and a driving belt 37 for transmitting a driving force from the engine 11 to the cutting mower 9 is constituted so as to be passed above the driving shaft 40L.
